This Saturday from 5pm – 10pm there will be a winter solstice party at the corner of Forest and Pine Street – where the farmers market usually is. There will be live music, firedancing, and old smoky moonshine. What else could mountain folk ask for? The bands will be Oatmeal Cookie, Bad Acid, and the Planet Shadow Wreckers. Today is the Boulder Creek Fire Department’s annual BBQ and Dance fundraiser. The event starts at 4 pm and goes till 11:55 pm. Dinner will be served from about 5 pm till about 7 or so. Admission is $15 for adults and $7 for kids, paid at the door ($15 gets you dinner and a drink). There will be a bounce house and possibly a face painter for kids.

The Board of Directors of the Boulder Creek Rec and Park District will be meeting tonight at 7pm.
The possibility of a community radio station serving Boulder Creek and the surrounding areas is a topic that will be discussed. Many town residents have been working together to make this a reality and it’s looking like it could happen.
