Good news for those going “over the hill” to San Jose, San Francisco or where ever. The top of Bear Creek Road (once the “sketchiest” part) has been widened and repaved. It’s MUCH better.

Unfortunately it seems to have lost some of its traction on this section. My tires now squeal like mad on that section at my normal speed. 😦 Can’t wait for some irregularities to show up…or for it to get painted lines.

I do. I’m just a little frustrated because I feel that it’s actually less safe right now than it was before the road work. As it is, there are no double-yellow lines and many of the tags to show the lanes have disintegrated. This plus the lack of traction is a bit disconcerting.
