When I grew up here there was a dam on the river about every 1000 yards. Like San Jose and their perk ponds they retained water and replentished our ground water. Today we have no dams, the river is a trickle and we have no where to skinydip in the summer. Im no tree hugger but we need to retain the water as we did before. Those 22 inches of rain are in the ocean now.
