There used to be a big red Macaw named Henry that lived out near the Mountain Store. Often he could be seen in a tree close to the store surveying the comings and goings of the store. This was probably 35 years ago, possibly more!
There was a flock of these parrots living in the trees at my high school in southern California. They were loud, but I rather liked having them there — it made suburbia seem a bit more exotic. Not sure how well it’ll thrive up here, though.
I think that is my bird….Snow. She flew out our door three years ago!!! Where exactly was she spotted in downtown? Please email me @ rkstrand@cruzio.com.

I remember Henry the Macaw, used to see him flying back & forth from his home to the mountain store, was a nice sight
