The Redwood Keg in today’s Santa Cruz Sentinel
Yep, it’s true…. the best sandwiches around are at the RedWood Keg.
Genevieve Bookwalter at the Santa Cruz Sentinel wrote a nice piece on the RedWood Keg. Amazing that the owner’s family has been around here since arriving from Italy in 1929.

Boulder Creek Library 25th Anniversary Celebration
BACONATION 2010
Introducing the first annual Bacon Festival of Boulder Creek!
Join us in a celebration of food, music and fun.
WHERE: Junction Park in Boulder Creek
WHEN: Sat, August 21st, 1 – 4pm
People are invited to bring a bacon inspired dish (or veggie dish for the herbivores out there) or $5 each (kids under 12 free). People will eat and mingle, and then vote on the best dish. The winner wins all the profits from the festival.
This is to spur culinary creativity and promote social interaction. Unusual and innovative dishes are in demand. Let your imagination go wild at the thought of bacon! Use this as an excuse to try out those strange bacon dished that have always intrigued you. Bacontini, anyone? Bacon pie? Maple bacon? Chocobacon? (No alcohol allowed at the park, sorry).
There will be food, fun, bacon inspired crafts, live music by The Butchers, swimming in the river and lots of BACON!
Editor’s Note: This is a truly genius idea! We love it!
