This Tuesday the Boulder Creek Business Association will be hosting National Night Out on Forest St. between the hours of 5:30 pm- 7:30pm. There will be demonstrations by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff and Boulder Creek Fire Dept. and activities for all ages, as well as free community BBQ, and bounce house.
The Santa Cruz Police Department is seeking the community’s help in locating a missing child.
Madyson “Maddy” Middleton, 8, was last seen at 4:12 p.m. Sunday near the Tannery Arts Center, according to the Santa Cruz Police Department. She is 4 feet tall and weighs 48 pounds. Madyson was last seen at her apartment complex at 1030 River St. on her white razor scooter, wearing a purple knee-length dress with black leggings, helmet, and long dark hair pulled to the side in a braid.
If you have information that can assist in helping safely locate Madyson Middleton, please call 911.

This Saturday night, for the first time in maybe, ever! Junction Park will show an outdoor movie presented by the Boulder Creek Community Radio Project KBCZ, which will be showing The Princess Bride! Feel free to cosplay as your favorite character or shout out your favorite quotes during the movie! The evening will start at 6:00pm with DJ SAMTHERAN spinning danceable tunes. Polish, Beef, Turkey and other deluxe Hot Dogs will be sold as well as beer and wine to people of appropriate age, and concessions with fresh popcorn, candy bars and hot cocoa sold once the movie starts. Bring your beach chair or beach blanket. All proceeds benefit KBCZ which will hit 90.1 airwaves this summer!

On Saturday, July 18, a “Spaghetti Feed” fundraiser will be held at the Boulder Creek Recreation Center from 4-8 p.m. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the family of Ramey White as he continues his journey of recovery.
The event will feature live reggae music from Blazeen, children’s activities, including arts and crafts and a bouncy house, a silent auction and a drawing for a private Chardonnay Yacht Cruise, valued at $2000. Raffle tickets for the drawing are $2 each or 7 for $10.
For father of two, Ramey White, this past Father’s Day was his first since he was suddenly struck with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) in January of this year, an unexpected illness that turned his whole world upside down.
Tickets for the Spaghetti Feed, purchased in advance are $12 for adults, ($15 at the door), and $5 for children, ($7 at the door). A family of four “To Go Pack” is just $32. Tickets may be purchased online at http://bit.ly/rameyspaghetti.

The young man shot by deputies on July 9th in the 15000 block of Fern Flat in Boulder Creek has been identified as 17 year old Cyrus Hurtado (06/30/98) described as a white male, 6-00 , 245 lbs. Autopsy results pending toxicology in a few weeks.
