Join historian Frank Perry and explore the route once taken by Henry Cowell’s oxteams between his limestone quarry and his lime kilns. Using recently discovered historic photos taken along the route, we will see how this area has changed over the past 100 years.

This approximately 2.5 hour, up and back, moderately strenuous walk will cover 3 miles. This walk is limited to 25 people so please sign-up early as spaces will go quickly.

Directions to parking area:

From Felton on Highway 9: Starting at Henry Cowell Park entrance drive south 3.1 miles just past mile marker #2.79.

From Highway 1 / Highway 9 intersection: Drive north on Highway 9 past Paradise Park 2.6 miles just past mile marker #2.51.

Parking area has ‘Henry Cowell State Park’ sign and Emergency Call Box.
