Santa Cruz Sentinel . . Fliers encouraging to ‘hunt down’ burglars raise concern

The Santa Cruz Sentinel has published a story about the flyers many have reported seeing around town which encourage readers to “hunt” down a person the flyer states has been stealing medical marijuana around this area.

Sgt. Dan Campos was quoted in the article, stating: “We can’t verify that there has been a crime here. This victim who got his medical marijuana stolen got it on video; God bless him. But if he hasn’t reported the crime to us, how can we take it seriously?”

Looks to us like the police may be sadly “out of the loop” – if this was legit Medical Marijuana, wouldn’t they have reported it to the police instead of trying to take matters in their own hands? If this is medical marijuana, they should get the cops involved.
