KBCZ Speakeasy, “Puttin on the Ritz”

Boulder Creek, CA- KBCZ is holding it’s 3rd annual spring fundraiser, a 1920’s Speakeasy Dance on Saturday night April 2 upstairs at the Odd Fellows building in downtown Boulder Creek. Organizers are hoping Boulder Creek residents turn up dressed to the nines and ready to be ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’.  With DJ’s Tara Bong and Andy Boswell starting the night off with 1920’s remix music, followed by DJ SamtheRam spinning dance music, the night promises to be a blast like the previous years.

“We have been on the air since July 2015,” says Station Manager Tina Davey, “we’ve slowly been building our music library and training on our equipment, we have obtained our EAS (Emergency Alert System) and now we are on a real search for people who would like to  conduct local interviews, there’s so many interesting local people in our area. We are looking for interviews on a whole range of subjects that would be of interest to San Lorenzo Valley residents.”

The annual spring fundraiser is always an important one to the station. This year the funds will help the station get closer to it’s goal of obtaining a new antenna with a site  plan agreed to by the San Lorenzo Valley Water District scheduled to be completed by 2017speakeasy2(1).
